ISSUES

COUNCIL EXPERIENCE & TEAMWORK

Gladstone's future depends on the City Council's ability to function successfully and get the job done. Tom Mersereau brings long-term leadership and a focus on teamwork to the Council.

TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY

Transparency and openness are key to establishing trust between the Mayor, the Council and Gladstone citizens. We need to ensure there is transparency in how we make decisions so the citizens can hold us accountable. Tom Mersereau brings accountability and fiscally sound oversight to our numerous civic projects and plans.

INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDING

Our master plan requires us to address long-term funding for infrastructure projects, including the revitalization of Portland Avenue, the construction of a new library, city hall and police station.  We must make investments in water, sewer, storm drains, underground piping and paving

TRUST & CITIZEN COMMUNICATION

We need to improve open communication and trust between Gladstone, its citizens and our strategic partners. Community outreach is key to making sure all Gladstone citizens have a say in the direction their city is heading.  Tom will continue to encourage Council members to seek out diversity of input from a broader group of residents.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Portland Avenue and our downtown Civic Center Complex are and will continue to be critical to expanding opportunities for Gladstone businesses. We need to promote Gladstone as a great place to live and work and support economic development and growth to help Gladstone thrive.
